Coachman's Cottage is on the lane between Yaxley and Mellis. It's an old cart lodge, a single storey building. They've done it up well inside.
It sleeps three. There's one bedroom, but it's a good size. There's a double bed and a single bed in there. One bathroom with a shower and a bath. The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, seating area. The wood burning stove works and they provide some logs. The range cooker is nice if you like cooking.
The back garden is enclosed. It's not huge, but it's a proper garden with a patio. You can sit out there. There's parking for a car right outside.
It's quiet here. The big thing is it's right next to Mellis Common. It's a 240-acre common, a nature reserve. You can walk straight out onto it. Good for dogs, if you have one. We allow one dog.
There's a pub in Mellis, about half a mile walk. It serves food. The nearest shop is in Eye, which is about two and a half miles away. Eye is a small town with a few shops and a Co-op.
If you like steam engines, Bressingham Steam Museum is about ten minutes away by car. Diss is a fifteen minute drive. It's got a nice mere to walk around and a high street. The coast at Southwold is about fifty minutes.
You can arrange horse riding on site if you book it in advance. They've got a manege and qualified staff. The stables are next to the cottage.
Facilities are all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
