The Old Stables is on our land, about two miles outside of Botesdale village. It used to be a stable block, hence the name. It's a single-storey building, so no stairs at all. You've got your own enclosed garden with a patio area and a hot tub. The view is over our fields and the farmland beyond.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and in good order, not that it's overly fancy. It's warm and dry, with underfloor heating.
There's a wood burner in the living area. We leave you some logs to get started. The kitchen has what you need to cook a proper meal. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a cot. You can bring two dogs.
It's very quiet here. The nearest shop and pub are two miles away in the village. For a bigger shop, Diss is about a 15 minute drive. Bury St Edmunds is maybe 25 minutes. The coast at Southwold or Aldeburgh is about 45 minutes by car.
If you want to go for a walk, you can just step out the door onto the footpaths. For a day out, the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds is good, or the Sutton Hoo burial site near Woodbridge. The Suffolk Coast and Heaths area is worth the trip if you like beaches and wildlife.
Parking is right next to the cottage. WiFi works fine. There's a bike store if you bring cycles.
