The Old Dairy
The Old Dairy is our place in Mellis. It's a detached stone building, converted from the old farm dairy. It's next to our house, but it's completely private. It's all on one level.
It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's warm and dry.
It's very quiet out here. The skies are dark at night, so you can see the stars. You'll see wildlife from the patio. Buzzards, deer, hares in the fields. You hear the owls at night.
The cottage is enclosed, so it's secure for dogs. We allow up to three pets.
There's a pub a mile up the road in the village. They do food. The nearest shop is in Eye, about three miles away.
You're in the middle of the countryside for walking and cycling. Thornham Country Park is three miles away. It's a big area for that. For a day out, Bressingham Steam Museum is about six miles. Diss is six miles too, that's got the train station and supermarkets.
The coast is about half an hour's drive. Places like Southwold and Aldeburgh. They're good for a day by the sea. Most beaches allow dogs, but some have summer restrictions.
Further afield, you've got Sutton Hoo near Woodbridge, or you can go into Norwich. Both are roughly a 40 minute drive.
In terms of what's here: there's parking right outside. The garden is yours to use, with a patio and furniture. There's a BBQ. Wi-fi, TV, washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. The shower is a walk-in wet room type.
