Wisteria Lodge

Wisteria Lodge is a single-storey barn conversion on Snow Street in Roydon. It's detached, so you won't be sharing walls with anyone. It's next door to another holiday barn, Woodcrest, and the owner's house is nearby. You get the place to yourselves, but you're not totally isolated.

It sleeps two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. Everything's on the same level, so there are no steps at all. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's been fitted out to a high standard. The bed's a good size with a decent mattress.

There's an enclosed courtyard garden with a patio, and a private hot tub. Behind the barn there's a shared games room with a pool table and table tennis. You can see it from the kitchen window.

The village is quiet. There's a pub that does food about half a mile away. Diss is a mile down the road. It's a market town, so it has the usual shops, supermarkets, cafes, and a few places to eat.

If you want to get out, you're right between Norwich and Bury St Edmunds. Both are about a 30 minute drive. Norwich has the cathedral and the market. Bury's got the abbey gardens and the theatre. For walks, Thetford Forest is good. Thetford Forest has miles of trails. Or you can visit Ickworth House, which is National Trust.

The coast takes a bit longer, about an hour by car. Southwold and Aldeburgh are on the Suffolk side. The Norfolk Broads are closer if you fancy a boat trip.

Facilities are all here: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. It's not suitable for pets.
