Cedar Barn Banham

Cedar Barn is in Banham, Norfolk. It's one of the farm buildings at Wash Farm. It's got a five star rating, which means it's done to a high standard and is comfortable.

It says it sleeps four, but it's really best for two adults or a couple with two children. There's one proper bedroom upstairs on a mezzanine floor that overlook the living area. Then there's a sofa bed downstairs. So you could have four, but it would be a bit of a squeeze. The shower room is on the ground floor. It's open plan, so the kitchen is part of the main living space.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's a private bit of garden for you, and you can park right outside.

The big thing here is the indoor heated swimming pool. It's shared with the other barns on site, but it's usually quiet. You do need to bring your own pool towels. The water is kept warm all year round.

The farm is next to Banham Zoo. You can see the zoo from some parts of the grounds. It's a good zoo for a day out, well looked after. There are also some Suffolk Punch horses in the paddocks. They're lovely to watch from a distance.

For walks, you can start right from the door. There's a network of footpaths. The shop and pub in Banham village are about a ten minute walk away. They're fine.

Within half an hour's drive, you've got Wymondham Abbey and market town, and Thetford Forest for cycling and walking trails. Norwich is about 35 minutes away if you want proper shops or a cathedral visit.

The coast is a bit further. The Norfolk Broads are about 40 minutes north, around Wroxham. The beaches at Southwold or on the North Norfolk coast are more like an hour's drive.

Facilities inside: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and wifi. Towels and bedding are included. Everything is electric.
