St Mary's Chapel

St Mary's Chapel is in New Buckenham, Norfolk. It used to be a 12th-century chapel. We've renovated it so it's comfortable, but the old bits are still there. It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms.

The place is full of character. Original beams, stone walls, a wood burner. The stairs are winding and a bit steep in parts, because it's old. The kitchen is new and has everything you need. There's a study and a library area if you want a quiet corner.

One of the bedrooms has bunk beds. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We allow up to two dogs.

It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and well-equipped, not a luxury hotel.

Outside, you have the garden to yourselves. There's a ruined castle right next door, within a moated area. You can walk around it. It's not exclusive to guests, the public can pay to visit too, but it's very nice to have it on the doorstep. A public footpath runs past the property.

The village shop and a pub are about 500 yards away. The pub does food.

For days out, Norwich is about a 20 minute drive. It's a proper city with the cathedral, castle museum, and shopping. The Norfolk Broads are about 40 minutes away for boat trips. The coast at Great Yarmouth or Lowestoft is around 45 minutes.

In terms of facilities, you've got the wood burner, TV, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. All the electricity and utilities are covered.
