This is The Station, in Knaves Green, Suffolk. It's a group of railway themed properties on the old Mid Suffolk Light Railway track bed. There's a station house and a few converted railway carriages.
The main house sleeps six in three bedrooms. It's detached and has a typical station building look. The carriages sleep different numbers, from two to six people. They've kept a lot of the original railway features inside, like the bench seats in some of them. They're all unique.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic. It's on one level and has wheelchair access, which is good to know. There's on site parking.
The location is very rural. You're surrounded by fields and country lanes. It's quiet. You can walk to the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum from here. They run steam trains at weekends in the summer.
The owner has a separate swimming pool about three quarters of a mile away. It's heated from March to November. There's also a hot tub and sauna there you can use.
The nearest village with a shop and a pub is about two miles away. Debenham is four miles and has a few more shops and a leisure centre. Mendlesham is closer, about a mile and a half, and has a pub and a bakery.
For a day out, you're about a 30 minute drive from places like Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, or Diss. The Suffolk coast, like Southwold or Aldeburgh, is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
If you're looking for things to do, the Visit Suffolk site has good information. The National Trust has a few properties nearby too, like Ickworth.
