Railway Carriage Two
This is Railway Carriage Two. It's on the old track bed of the Mid Suffolk Light Railway, near the museum. The views are good, just fields and countryside.
It sleeps six, but that's with using the double sofa bed in the living area. There are two proper bedrooms: one double and one with bunk beds. One bathroom.
The carriage is surprisingly spacious inside. It's open plan, so the kitchen and living area are all together. It works.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well equipped and comfortable. The stairs up into the carriage are a bit steep, just so you know.
You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to it.
The owner has a swimming pool, sauna and hot tub about three quarters of a mile away. You can book to use it.
The Mid Suffolk Light Railway Museum is a short walk away. They run steam trains on weekends in the summer.
The village of Mendlesham is a mile and a half away. It's got a pub, a shop and a bakery. Debenham is four miles. That's bigger, with a few shops, cafes and a supermarket.
It's very quiet here. Good for walking and cycling on the lanes. If you want to go further, Framlingham Castle and the Suffolk coast are about half an hour's drive.
