The Bungalow
The Bungalow is in Thropton, a village in Northumberland. It’s a bungalow, so everything is on one level. That means no stairs. The bathroom has a walk-in shower.
It has two bedrooms, both with king-size beds. It sleeps four. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well looked after.
There’s a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is modern. You get the front garden to yourselves, with seating. It’s up a bit of a slope, so you get a good view over the village and the fields.
Thropton is small. There are two pubs within a few hundred yards. Both do food. The nearest shop is in Rothbury, which is about two miles away. Rothbury has a few shops, cafes, and a petrol station.
You’re right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park here. The Simonside Hills are close by for walking.
Within about a 30 minute drive you’ve got a few things. Cragside, a National Trust house, is just outside Rothbury. It’s about a ten minute drive. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour away. The Northumberland coast, like Alnmouth or Craster, is about the same.
The facilities are what you’d expect: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking on the drive. No pets, sorry.
