Croft Cottage is in Burradon, near Rothbury. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. The views over the fields are really good, and it's very quiet out here. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It was done up a few years ago. There's a wood burner in the living room, which is a decent size. French doors open onto a patio with a lawned garden, so you can sit out there.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. You can bring one dog. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included.
We live on-site, but you've got your own space. There's a lockable bike store about four minutes' walk away if you need it.
The location is the main thing. You're right by the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Thropton village is four miles away and has a couple of pubs. Rothbury is just over six miles, it's a nice little town with shops and places to eat. The Simonside Hills are right there for walking.
You're well placed for day trips. Cragside, the National Trust house, is near Rothbury. Alnwick Castle is about a half hour drive. The coast, like Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island, is within maybe forty minutes. It's a Dark Sky Park area too, so on a clear night the stars are very good.
