Pennywells Cottage is in the hamlet of Alnham in Northumberland. It's a stone cottage, Grade II listed, built around the 1700s. The position is quiet, just fields around it.
It sleeps five in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. The rating is 3 Star. It's clean and well kept, not a show home. You get an enclosed garden. It looks out over fields towards the hills.
The main things you'll notice are the beams across the ceiling and a big stone fireplace in the living room. It's got a wood burner. The stairs are cottage stairs, which means they're a bit steep.
You're out in the countryside here. The nearest pubs and shops are a drive away. Rothbury is about 6 miles. It's got a Co-op, a few cafes, and a couple of butchers. There's a chip shop too.
You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Brilliant walking from the door. Cragside, which is a National Trust house with gardens, is about half an hour's drive. Alnwick Castle and its famous gardens are also within 30 minutes.
For the coast, Alnmouth and the beaches around there are about 40 minutes. If you head inland, you're close to the North Tyne valley and Kielder Water.
Facilities wise: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and the TV. Fishing is available locally. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding is included.
