Wisteria Cottage
Wisteria Cottage is in Netherton, Northumberland. It's a detached place. Getting here can feel a bit rural, but that's the point. The shop is about six miles away, so you'll want to bring your groceries with you.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. The garden is tiered, which is nice in the sun. There's a stream at the back, you can hear it from the conservatory. That's a separate room, good for sitting in.
The living room has a wood burner. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The place is wheelchair accessible at the entrance. You can bring two dogs.
You're about three miles from the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Good for walking. Rothbury is a few miles away, a small town for basics. There are a couple of pubs doing food about four miles off, in Thropton.
The coast is around eighteen miles to the east. That's where the big beaches and castles are, like Alnwick Castle. It's about an eighteen mile drive. National Trust looks after a lot of it. Hadrian's Wall is further west, maybe a forty-five minute drive. Newcastle is about the same distance, the other way.
It's a quiet spot. You're in the middle of the county, so you can drive out in any direction without too much backtracking.
