Ferncliffe Cottage is in Snitter, near Rothbury. It's a bungalow so it's all on one floor, which is handy. It's semi-detached with the neighbour next door. The views from the front are very good, over the Coquet Valley towards the Simonside Hills.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both have their own bathroom, which is useful. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's modern inside, well looked after. You've got underfloor heating and a wood burner in the kitchen area if you want it. The living room has a big sliding door you can close it off with, or leave it open.
There's a tiered garden at the back to sit in if it's sunny. The patio at the front is enclosed, so a dog could be out there safely. We take one well-behaved pet.
You're on a quiet lane. The village pub in Thropton is about a 700 yard walk, downhill on the way there. There's a small supermarket and a garage with a butcher about a quarter of a mile away. Rothbury is two miles down the road for more shops and cafes.
For days out, Cragside is in Rothbury. It's a National Trust house with big gardens. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour's drive. The coast, like Alnmouth, is about 40 minutes. Kielder Water and the forest are also within reach if you want to go that way.
What's here: parking, wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, wood burner, cot and highchair if needed. All bedding and towels are included.
