It's called Ferncliffe Cottage. It's in Snitter, which is just outside the village of Thropton in Northumberland. It's on a quiet lane. The main thing is the view. You get a really good view of the Coquet Valley and the Simonside Hills from the front.
It's a bungalow, so everything is on one level. That's quite useful. It sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's an enclosed patio at the front where you can sit and look at the view. The back garden is on different levels, it gets the sun. There's parking right there.
Inside, it's all been done recently. The kitchen has a wood burner, which is nice when it's cold. There's a living room area that can be opened up or closed off with a sliding door, which is a handy feature. It has the things you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are provided.
The local pub is about a ten minute walk downhill. Rothbury is two miles away. It's a nice little town with a river, shops, and places to eat. The big attraction there is Cragside, which is a National Trust house with massive gardens. Well worth a visit.
You're in a good spot for getting out. Northumberland National Park is on the doorstep. Alnwick Castle is about half an hour's drive. The coast, like Alnmouth or Craster, is roughly 40 minutes away. If you fancy a longer drive, you can get up to Kielder Water in under an hour.
