Honeypot Cottage is in Rothbury, up past the town centre. It's a new build, so it's smart inside. Well insulated, modern heating. That sort of thing. The rating means it's high spec.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom downstairs has zip and link beds, so you can have a super king or twins. The main bathroom is down there too, with a walk-in shower and a separate bath. Upstairs are the other two bedrooms and the second bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have Smart TVs and an Alexa thing.
The position is up the hill, so you get a view over the town from the front. There's a raised deck at the back with seating. We call it the gin balcony. It gets the evening sun.
You can get straight onto dog walks from the back gate. They lead up towards Cragside. Good for a proper leg stretch without using the car. The garden is enclosed, so dogs are fine. We take two.
Rothbury has what you need. A couple of supermarkets for basics, some nice cafes, a few pubs that do food. Good butchers. The river walks are nice and flat. For a bigger walk, the Simonside Hills are right there. Steep in parts, but the views from the top are worth it.
You're well placed for exploring. Alnwick Castle is about 25 minutes drive. The coast at Alnmouth or Craster is maybe half an hour. Cragside House is just on the edge of town. That's a full day out if you like that sort of thing. The beach is about 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
For facilities, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner. Parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them. There's a BBQ for the summer.
