Alt-Na-Craig
Alt-Na-Craig is in Rothbury. It's up a bit of a bank, so you get a good view over the town. You can walk down to the bridge and the shops in five minutes. There are a couple of pubs.
The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. There's a sunroom at the back that leads out to a small, walled garden. It faces south, so you can sit out there if you get the sun.
Inside, it's just a normal house. There's a big sofa and a gas fire for if it's cold. Everything you'd need is there.
Rothbury's a good spot for walking. You can walk along the river, or get up into the Simonside Hills if you want something steeper. Cragside, the National Trust house, is right on the edge of town. The gardens are impressive.
You're on the edge of the Northumberland National Park here. It's about half an hour's drive to the coast, places like Alnmouth or Craster. Alnwick Castle is maybe 25 minutes away. Kielder Water is further, maybe 40 minutes, but the drive around the reservoir is very scenic.
What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and the bedding and towels are included. There's a parking space. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but you'd need to check the rest of the layout suits your needs. Sorry, no pets.
