Well Strand

Well Strand is in Rothbury, on the high street. It's an old place, built as a school in the 1820s. It's been done up inside, with wood panelling and stone walls. It's comfortable, not just old.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms: a kingsize, a double, and twins. Two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath. The bath has a view of the Simonside Hills.

Downstairs there's a living room with a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace. The kitchen has a big farmhouse table. Everything works. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard.

You can walk straight out the door. The high street has shops, pubs, and cafes a hundred yards away. The Simonside Hills are right there for walking. You can store bikes in the cottage. The Sandstone Way cycle route is close.

Cragside House and Gardens is less than a mile up the road. It's a National Trust place with lakes and woods to walk around. Alnwick with its castle and gardens is about twelve miles, twenty minutes or so in the car.

The Northumberland coast is about half an hour's drive. Places like Bamburgh and Seahouses. Beaches and castles. Inland, Hadrian's Wall is maybe forty-five minutes. And the Dark Sky Park at Kielder is an hour away.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring two pets.
