The Croft is in Rothbury. It's a stone cottage halfway up a hill on the edge of town. It's semi-detached, but the garden is yours. The view from the front over the valley is really good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've just done it up, so everything's new and works properly. It's comfortable.
There's a multi-fuel burner in the living room. You get a TV and WiFi. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a piano in the dining room, if you play.
Outside, there's a terrace at the front with some furniture. It gets the sun. The garden is enclosed.
Rothbury itself is a five minute walk down the hill. There's a Co-op for basics, a few places to eat, and a couple of pubs. The River Coquet runs through it, if you like fishing.
The cottage is right by the Simonside Hills and Northumberland National Park. You can walk straight out onto the hills. For a big day out, Alnwick Castle and the coast at Alnmouth are about half an hour's drive. The Northumberland coast with all the castles, like Bamburgh, is a bit further, maybe forty minutes.
The cottage takes two dogs. There's parking for one car on the driveway. Bedding and towels are included.
