This is Percy Boynton Cottage, in Whitton. It's a semi-detached stone cottage about a mile from Rothbury.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean, it's comfortable, it's not a show home. The stairs are steep, because it's over three floors. The wood burner in the lounge works well.
There's a small enclosed garden to the side. It has a living willow dome, which is basically a little green tunnel made of willow trees. It's a bit unusual, but you might like it.
You can walk into Rothbury. There's a footpath by the road, or you can cut across the field. It's quiet here. You look out towards Cragside at the front, and the Simonside Hills are behind you.
We're right on the edge of Northumberland National Park. It's good for walking. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so on a clear night you can see a lot of stars. The Kielder Observatory is about a 40 minute drive if you're really into that.
For a day out, Cragside is very close. It's a National Trust place with a big house and gardens. The coast at Alnmouth or Bamburgh is about half an hour's drive. They're proper sandy beaches.
In terms of what's here, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's parking. There's a local pub. No pets, I'm afraid.
If you're planning walks, the Northumberland National Park site is useful.
