Percy Boynton Cottage is in Whitton, which is a little hamlet about a mile from Rothbury. It's a stone-built, semi-detached place.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's graded 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean but not a show home. It's over three floors, so the stairs are typical cottage stairs.
The lounge has a wood-burning stove, which is great in the colder months. There's a small, enclosed garden to the side with a living willow dome thing. You get chairs and cushions for outside.
It's quiet here. You look out towards Cragside at the front, and the Simonside Hills are right behind you. It's an easy walk into Rothbury, either along the roadside path or over the fields.
You're on the edge of Northumberland National Park. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars at night are something else. The Kielder Observatory is about a 35-minute drive if you're keen. Cragside is only a couple of miles away, that's a National Trust place with amazing gardens. Alnwick and its castle are about half an hour by car. The coast, like Alnmouth or Bamburgh, is also within about 30 minutes.
For facilities, you've got parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
If you're planning trips, the Northumberland National Park and Visit Northumberland sites are useful.
