Rothbury Cottage is in the village, on a quiet little close. You can walk to the pub in two minutes, which is handy. It’s semi-detached with its own garden and a south-facing patio.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. The garden wraps around the cottage.
Rothbury itself is a nice market town. There’s a good butcher, a couple of bakeries, and some small shops. The River Coquet runs through it if you fancy a gentle walk, or the Simonside Hills are right there for proper walking.
The big local attraction is Cragside. It’s a National Trust place, the first house lit by hydroelectric power. The gardens are great in spring and summer. You can drive there in about five minutes.
Alnwick Castle is about a 25-minute drive. They used it for Harry Potter. The Northumberland National Park is maybe half an hour away for longer walks. The coast, with all the castles and beaches, is about 40 minutes by car.
The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot. It’s wheelchair accessible at the entrance, and the shower has a seat.
