Freeland Farmhouse Stables
This is Freeland Farmhouse Stables. It's a cottage near Cootham, West Sussex. It used to be a stable, but it's been converted. It's on the edge of the South Downs National Park.
It sleeps three people in two bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed, the other has twins. The bathroom is on the same ground floor level. Everything is open plan – the kitchen, living area, and dining space are all one room. There are big doors that open onto the front terrace. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. You'll find a dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi included. There's parking right outside.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden at the front is enclosed, which is handy for them. It's a patio area with seating, looking out over fields. The local gliding club is next door, so you'll often see them overhead. It's quiet, apart from that.
For getting out, you're right in the countryside. There are footpaths directly from the property. The RSPB reserve at Pulborough Brooks is about a mile away, which is good for a walk. Parham House and its gardens are also within walking distance.
The nearest pub is about a mile away. A shop and restaurant are a bit further, in Storrington. That village has most things you'd need. The coast is about a 20-minute drive. Arundel, with its castle and river, is about a 15-minute drive. Petworth House is roughly half an hour away.
In terms of facilities: bedding and towels are provided. There's bike storage if you need it. The stairs to the mezzanine area – that's not a bedroom, just a bit of extra space – are quite steep, just so you know.
