Dairy Byre
This is Dairy Byre, near West Chiltington. It's a converted dairy building on our working farm, right next to the South Downs National Park. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms, and it's got two bathrooms.
The conversion kept a lot of the original character, so there are exposed timbers and brickwork. The back wall isn't straight. You just look at it and think, well, that's how they built things. It's got a modern kitchen and a lounge area. The courtyard is shared with two other holiday cottages, but it's private and away from the farmyard.
You're on a farm, so you'll see the tractors going past sometimes. It's quiet though. You can walk straight out into the fields towards the vineyards in Nutbourne, about two miles away. The village of West Chiltington has a couple of shops and pubs. It's all winding lanes and old cottages.
The South Downs National Park boundary is about three miles away. The Wildbrooks at Pulborough is good for a flat walk by the River Arun, with views of the Downs. Parham House is nearby if you like big old houses. Goodwood, Arundel, and Petworth are all within a 30 minute drive. The coast at Worthing or Littlehampton is about 40 minutes away, depending on traffic.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
