The Old Workshop
The Old Workshop is here in West Chiltington. It's on the edge of a small working farm. We've got horses and fields around us. The cottage itself used to be a carpentry barn, so it's got a high, vaulted ceiling with old timber beams.
It's all open plan inside. One main room for the kitchen, a dining table, and a sofa area. The kingsize bed is in a sort of alcove off that same room. Then there's a shower room. It sleeps two, that's it. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means everything's in good order and it's well equipped.
You get your own little courtyard out the front with a table and chairs. It catches the sun. You can sit there with a coffee and watch the horses. There's also a shared laundry room with a washer and dryer you can use.
The village is about a mile's walk. There's a shop and a pub there. The church is old, from the 12th century, and it's just down the lane.
We're right by the South Downs. It's about three miles to the National Park boundary. Good walking from the doorstep, really. The RSPB Pulborough Brooks nature reserve is nearby if you like birdwatching.
A short drive gets you to a few places. Petworth is about 15 minutes west. Petworth House is there, with the park and art collection. Parham House and Gardens is about 10 minutes away, an Elizabethan house. Arundel with its castle is roughly 20 minutes south.
In terms of what's here: the WiFi works, all the bedding and towels are included, there's a dishwasher, and you can park right outside. There's space to store bikes if you bring them. We can't take pets, sorry.
