The Old Dairy

The Old Dairy is on Gay Street, which is a small lane near the villages of Ashington and Thakeham. It's a 17th century building that used to be part of a farm. It's been done up inside, so it's comfortable and warm now. It sleeps two, in one bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.

You come in through the conservatory, which gets the sun in the morning. It looks out over the fields. The main room has the kitchen and a sitting area with a wood burner. There's a hatch between them, so you can chat while you're cooking. The wet room is on the ground floor. The stairs go up to the bedroom. They're old cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.

The garden is yours to use, with a table and chairs and a barbecue. There's parking right outside.

If you have horses, you can bring them. There's stabling for three on site, with grazing paddocks, a tack room and space for a lorry. It's a good spot for riding, with lots of tracks and centres like Coombelands and Hickstead nearby.

For days out, Petworth House is about twenty minutes' drive. Arundel Castle and the wetlands centre are about half an hour. The South Downs are right there for walking. The coast at Worthing or Littlehampton is roughly thirty minutes.

Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are available if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
