The Mouse House
The Mouse House is on our beef farm, on the edge of West Chiltington. It used to be a farm store. It's one of three cottages around a shared courtyard, which is separate from the farmyard so it's quiet.
It sleeps two. One bedroom with an en-suite shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room has a high vaulted ceiling with the old roof timbers showing, so it feels quite spacious. There's a decent sized kitchen area. French doors open onto the courtyard.
It's a working farm, so you'll see cattle in the fields and hear the usual farm noises sometimes. The courtyard is shared with the other two cottages, but there's plenty of room.
The village shop and a pub are about a mile up the lane. There's a nice walk west from the farm towards Nutbourne and the vineyards.
You're right next to the South Downs. The South Downs National Park boundary is about three miles away. Good walking from the farm itself, or over at Pulborough Brooks, which is an RSPB reserve.
For a day out, Petworth and its National Trust house are about a 15 minute drive. Parham House is closer, near Storrington. The coast, like Worthing or Littlehampton, is roughly half an hour by car.
What's here: parking right outside, WiFi, TV, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a BBQ in the courtyard. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot in the bedroom if you need one. No pets, sorry.
