The Bull's Box
The Bull's Box is a cottage for two on our beef farm. It used to be the bull's shed, hence the name. It's one of three holiday cottages around a shared courtyard.
It's got a 4 Star rating. There's one bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. The ceiling is vaulted with the old roof timbers showing, so it feels quite spacious. The kitchen and living area is all one room. It's well equipped. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see and hear farm stuff. The courtyard is set away from the main farm buildings, so it's quiet out there. You can sit outside, there's a table and chairs and a barbecue.
The village of West Chiltington is about a mile away. There's a shop and a pub there. For a bigger shop, Pulborough is three miles.
You're right on the edge of the South Downs National Park, about three miles to the boundary. There are good walks straight from the door across the fields. You can walk to the Nutbourne vineyards in about forty minutes. The Pulborough Brooks RSPB reserve is close by, and the River Arun walks are good. South Downs National Park has all the information.
For days out, Parham House is an Elizabethan house about three miles away. Petworth House and Park, which is National Trust, is about eight miles. Petworth is well worth a visit. The coast at Worthing or Littlehampton is about a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: Everything listed is included. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry. The cottage is all on one level.
