This is Wychwood. It’s a semi-detached cottage in Lydgate, which is a quiet part of West Yorkshire near Holmfirth.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which is good. It’s comfortable and everything works.
There’s parking on a private drive. The back garden is enclosed and lawned. It’s not huge, but it’s yours and it’s private. The French doors in the living room open out onto it.
Inside, it’s a normal family house. The kitchen has what you need. The living room has a gas fire. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a king-size bed, the second has a double, and the third has bunk beds for kids. The stairs are fine.
You’re about a ten minute walk from a village pub in Wooldale. Holmfirth town centre is about five minutes in the car. It’s got shops, cafes, and the Picturedrome music venue. You probably know it from Last of the Summer Wine.
For walks, you can start straight from the door into the Holme Valley. The Peak District National Park is about half an hour’s drive. Marsden and Slaithwaite are close by if you want to explore other villages. Huddersfield is about 25 minutes away.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a highchair if you need one. No pets, sorry.
