Holme Valley Cottage
This is Holme Valley Cottage. It's an end-of-terrace stone cottage just outside Holmfirth. You're about a twenty minute walk from the town centre, or five minutes in the car. The cottage looks out over the valley, fields and woods. The view is good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after, not just basic. The garden is a decent size, with a patio. You can park two cars on the drive.
Inside, it's straightforward. There's a living room with a dining area, a kitchen, and a storeroom for boots and coats. It has WiFi and a Smart TV. The bedrooms are a double and a kingsize. We include all the bedding and towels. There's a washing machine too. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
You're on the edge of the Peak District National Park here, so walking and cycling is right on the doorstep. The town has shops, pubs and places to eat. The Picturedrome in Holmfirth is a good spot for live music. Holmfirth Vineyard does tastings and afternoon tea.
Within half an hour you can get to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park or The Hepworth in Wakefield. Cannon Hall Farm is nearby if you have kids, or just like animals. Titanic Spa in Huddersfield is about twenty minutes away if you want a treatment.
Further out, about an hour's drive, you've got cities like Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and York. You can visit places like Salts Mill, the Bronte Parsonage, or National Trust Nostell Priory from here too.
