Water's Edge

Water's Edge is one of three cottages on our working sheep farm. The cottages are semi-detached. Ours is the middle one. It's a good spot if you want to be rural. It's high up so the views are big, looking across the reservoir.

It sleeps four. It's one bedroom and one bathroom, so it's small but it works. It's got a small sofa bed downstairs. It's a 4 Star, so it's smart and clean. It has underfloor heating downstairs which is good. The French doors open onto a private patio.

The farm is up at about 1250 feet, so it can be breezy. Bring a coat. The Windleden reservoir you look at is private, but Winscar Reservoir is just down the road. You can walk around there easily. There are bridleways straight from the farm gate, and you can join the Trans Pennine Trail. You'll see plenty of sheep.

Holmfirth is about four miles away. That's your proper town with shops and pubs. It's famous for that Last of the Summer Wine show. Cannon Hall Farm is a half hour drive, good if you have kids. Yorkshire Sculpture Park is about the same distance.

You're on the edge of the Peak District. Places like Castleton or Buxton are a longer drive, maybe an hour.

For facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We can provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, sorry. It's not suitable for them.

If you're planning walks, have a look at the Peak District National Park website.
