Water's Edge

Water's Edge is one of three cottages on our farm at Dunford Bridge. It's at the eastern edge of the Peak District, about 1250 feet up. The views over Windleden Reservoir and the moors are the main thing. You can see for miles.

It sleeps four, but it's one bedroom. It's a decent sized room with a double bed and bunk beds. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. Underfloor heating downstairs keeps it warm. French doors open straight onto your own patio.

The other two cottages have wood burners, but this one doesn't. They allow pets, this one doesn't. No pets sorry.

You're on a working hill farm, so there are sheep about. It's quiet up here. The reservoir you can see is Windleden, but it's not open to the public. Winscar Reservoir is a couple of minutes down the road for a gentle walk.

For walking, there's a bridleway over Thurlstone Moor with good views. The Trans Pennine Trail is nearby too. You can start right from the door.

Holmfirth is about four miles away. It’s the town from Last of the Summer Wine. It has pubs, cafes, and shops. There's a vineyard there too. The nearest shop and pub are about that distance.

Within half an hour you can get to Cannon Hall Farm, which is good for kids. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is about the same drive. Into the Peak District proper, places like Buxton, Eyam, and Castleton are within an hour.

For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi included. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right outside.
