This is Eider Cottage. It's a stone weaver's cottage on a quiet back street in Holmfirth. You can walk into the centre of town in two minutes.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are original stone, and they’re steep and narrow in places. It's a proper old cottage, so you need to be steady on your feet.
Outside, there's a split-level terrace with a private hot tub that looks out over the town.
The owners also run a small leisure place seven miles away, with an indoor pool, sauna and another hot tub. You can book a private slot for a small charge. It's optional.
Holmfirth is handy. Plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The Holmfirth Vineyard is here for meals and tours.
You’re on the edge of the Peak District National Park, so there’s walking and cycling straight from the door. Holme Moss is nearby if you’re into that.
If you know the Last of the Summer Wine, they filmed around here. You can visit some of the locations. The Picturedrome in town is good for live music.
Facilities-wise: it has a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, wifi, a washing machine, and an enclosed patio with a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to three pets. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
