Eider Cottage
Eider Cottage is in Holmfirth. It's a stone weaver's cottage on a back street, a couple of minutes' walk from the centre.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is Grade II listed so it's full of old features, beams and an inglenook fireplace. The stairs are the original stone ones, so they're steep and uneven. The street outside is cobbled and steep too.
Outside there's a split-level terrace with a private hot tub. The view from there is good, right over the town.
There's a bit of an extra facility if you want it. The owner has an indoor pool, sauna and another hot tub about seven miles away. You can book it for your own use for a small charge.
Holmfirth itself has plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. It's famous for being in Last of the Summer Wine, so you can do tours of the filming spots if you like. There's also a vineyard here that does tours and meals.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District National Park, so walking is straightforward. For cycling, Holme Moss is the big local climb.
Eider Cottage is semi-detached and backs onto another cottage called Shelduck. There's a third one nearby called Mallard. They can be rented together for bigger groups.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bike storage. The garden is enclosed. We allow up to three dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
