Shepherd's Nook is one of three cottages on our farm at Dunford Bridge. We're right on the edge of the Peak District, up at about 1250 feet. You look out over Windleden Reservoir and the moors.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's warm and comfortable, with original beams and a wood burner. The kitchen and living area are open plan. There's a small private patio with a table and chairs.
It's a working hill farm, so there are sheep around. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The stairs are steep, just so you know.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door. Winscar Reservoir is a few minutes down the road for an easy stroll. For a bigger walk, you can pick up the bridleway across Thurlstone Moor or join the Trans Pennine Trail.
Holmfirth is about four miles away. That's where 'Last of the Summer Wine' was filmed. It's got pubs, cafes, and shops. You can get most things you need there.
Within a half hour drive, you've got Cannon Hall Farm and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. You can get into the Peak District proper quite easily. Places like Buxton, Eyam, and Castleton are all within an hour.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included, and the electricity is covered in the price.
