Bramble Cottage

Bramble Cottage is in Catshaw, South Yorkshire. It's one of four cottages converted from a 17th-century barn. The views are quite something, looking straight out over the Peak District.

It's for two people, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's been done to a high standard. The place has a lot of original character, like exposed beams and stonework.

You share the grounds with the other cottages. There are extensive gardens with different seating areas to take in the view. There's also a shared hot tub, a tennis court, and a Finnish barbecue house. The main attraction is the on-site spa. It's quite comprehensive: steam rooms, saunas, a mud room, that sort of thing. You need to book sessions and there's an extra charge for using it.

You're surrounded by fields here. The Trans Pennine Trail is right on the doorstep, so walking is the main thing to do. The property allows two dogs. A good pub is about half a mile away, a shop is a mile and a half.

In terms of places to visit, Holmfirth is close. For a day out, Chatsworth House is about a 30-minute drive. So is Bakewell. If you want a city, Sheffield, Leeds or Manchester are all within 40 minutes by car.

For facilities: it has parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. They can provide a cot and a highchair. There's a BBQ and a private patio garden. It's open plan inside.

If you're looking into walking routes or the area, the Peak District National Park website is useful.
