The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is in Catshaw, South Yorkshire. It's part of a small group of cottages converted from a bigger house. You're up on a hill, so the views over the Peak District are really good. It's quiet and feels a bit out of the way.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well looked after and comfortable. There are exposed beams and stone walls, so it feels like an old farmhouse, but everything works properly.

You share the big gardens with the other cottages. There are plenty of places to sit outside. You also get to use the shared facilities, which are a big part of the place. There's a tennis court, a Finnish barbecue hut, and a hot tub. There's also a spa on site with steam rooms, saunas, and some other treatment rooms. You book slots for the spa, it's not just open all the time.

The property is pet friendly. You can bring two dogs.

For walks, you're right by the Trans Pennine Trail. It's good for long cycles or walks with the dogs. You're surrounded by fields and moorland. Holmfirth is close, about ten minutes by car. It's got shops, pubs, and the whole Last of the Summer Wine thing if you're interested.

Within half an hour you can get to some big attractions. Chatsworth House is about 25 minutes drive. Bakewell is a bit further, maybe 35 minutes. If you want a city day, Sheffield, Leeds, and Manchester are all roughly 40 minutes away by car.

In terms of what's here: there's a wood burning stove, a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
