Healey Cottage is in Thunder Bridge, just outside Shelley village. It's one half of a semi-detached pair, right on the Trans-Pennine Trail. The owners live next door. It's quiet, and you can start walking or cycling from the front door.
It's a one-bedroom cottage, so it sleeps two. There's one bathroom, which is en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished. The wood burner works well and keeps the place warm.
The layout is open-plan downstairs. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Parking is on-site. We allow one well-behaved dog, and we leave a dog bed and bowls for you.
There's a local pub within walking distance, about half a mile. It's dog-friendly and serves food. The nearest shop is about a mile away in Shelley.
You're on the edge of the Pennines here. The Peak District National Park is very close for walking. Holmfirth and Huddersfield are about a 20-minute drive for supermarkets and other town things.
Within a 30-minute drive, you've got the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, and the National Coal Mining Museum. Leeds city centre is about 40 minutes away if you want a bigger day out.
