Appleshine Cottage is an old 17th century barn we converted, on the edge of Almondbury village. It's detached and looks out over the fields. You get the whole garden to yourselves.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and has everything you need. Because it's an old barn, the ceilings are low in some doorways. Watch your head.
The cottage is up a shared private lane. You can park right outside. It's very quiet up here.
Holmfirth is about ten minutes away by car. That's where you'll find most of the shops, cafes and a cinema. There's a couple of pubs you can walk to from here in about fifteen minutes, if you don't mind the hill back.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. The walk up to Castle Hill and the Victoria Tower is the obvious one from the door. For a longer drive, the proper Peak District or the Yorkshire Dales are both within an hour.
Inside, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
If you're planning days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Yorkshire, Peak District National Park, and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
