Millbarn is in Golcar, just outside Huddersfield. It's a big, old stone barn that sleeps thirteen people. There are seven bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a Grade II listed building, so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. The views from the back over the moors are good.
Because it's an old barn, the stairs are quite steep. It's on three floors. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's warm and the main living space is open plan, so it works for groups.
You can bring one dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's a dishwasher, a washing machine, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included.
The village has a shop, a butcher, and a couple of pubs that do food. They're dog friendly. The Colne Valley Museum is here, and they've put together walking trails around the old village that are interesting.
Huddersfield town centre is about four miles away for bigger shops and more places to eat. Slaithwaite and Marsden are a short drive and have some nice cafes. The Titanic Spa is about five minutes away if you want that.
For getting outside, you're right on the edge of the moors. The Peak District National Park is about twenty minutes' drive. The Yorkshire Dales are about an hour. Useful links for planning: Peak District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
