Waterside Lodge Two is part of Ashgrove Country Park near Elland. It's a wooden lodge, semi-detached, on the edge of some water. You get good views over the lakes and parkland from it.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating. The layout is split over three floors. The main living area is on the top floor with big doors that open onto a deck. It's open plan. Two bedrooms are on the middle floor, and the other two are on the ground floor. One of the ground floor bedrooms has glass doors that open straight out onto a deck by the water. That's a bit different.
Outside, there's a private hot tub on the deck. There's parking right by the lodge.
The lodge is on a big estate with about 40 acres of parkland to walk around. There's a lakeside bar and restaurant about half a mile down the road. The towns of Elland and Brighouse are five minutes away by car. They have shops, pubs, and a weekly market. Brighouse has a train station, which is useful.
Halifax is about ten minutes away. The Piece Hall there is worth a visit. So is Shibden Hall, which you might know from TV. If you have kids, Eureka! The National Children's Museum is in Halifax too. It's a 15-minute drive.
Further out, you can get to Haworth, which has the Brontë connections, in about half an hour. The Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District are both within an hour's drive if you want a proper day out walking.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
