Waterside Lodge Two

Waterside Lodge Two is on the edge of Ashgrove Country Park, between Elland and Brighouse. It's a wooden lodge set across from a lake. You get your own deck with a hot tub overlooking the water.

It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Three bathrooms, which helps with a bigger group. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The layout is a bit unusual: the main living area is on the top floor to make the most of the view. There are bi-folding doors that open onto a balcony. One of the bedrooms on the lower level is glass-fronted and opens straight out onto the deck.

The site is the old grounds of Ashgrove Hall. It's about 40 acres of parkland with lakes, canals and woodland. You can walk around it. There's a lakeside bar and restaurant about half a mile down the road.

Elland and Brighouse are both about five minutes drive for shops and things. Halifax is about ten minutes. Brighouse has a train station with links to Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Manchester and Leeds.

If you're planning days out, Piece Hall in Halifax and Shibden Hall are about fifteen minutes drive. Eureka! The National Children's Museum is the same. Haworth, for the Brontë link, is about half an hour away. You can get to the Yorkshire Dales or the Peak District in under an hour and a half.

Facilities include all the basics: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on site.

Useful links for the area: Yorkshire Dales National Park and Peak District National Park.
