Waterside Lodge Six is a wooden lodge in a place called Ashgrove Country Park near Elland. It's on the edge of a lake, so you get a water view from the main rooms. It's one of a pair, semi-detached.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is handy for a group that size. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable.
The layout is a bit different. The main living area is on the top floor. It has big folding doors that open onto a balcony so you can get the view. Two bedrooms are on the middle floor, and the other two are on the ground floor. One of the ground floor bedrooms has glass doors that open straight out onto a decked area by the water. That's a nice feature.
The site itself is about 40 acres of old parkland. It's quiet. There's a hot tub on the decking for the lodge.
Elland and Brighouse are about five minutes' drive for shops and things. There's a lakeside bar and restaurant about half a mile away. Halifax is ten minutes away. The train from Brighouse can get you to Manchester or Leeds if you want a city day.
For local days out, The Piece Hall in Halifax is about 15 minutes away. So is Shibden Hall, if you saw 'Gentleman Jack'. Eureka children's museum is also that close. Haworth and the Brontë Parsonage are about half an hour's drive. The Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District are both within an hour and a half if you fancy a longer trip.
Facilities: it has a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you have a bigger group, you can book the lodge next door as well.
