This is Waterside Lodge Six. It's in Elland, West Yorkshire, on a private estate called Ashgrove Country Park.
It's a wooden lodge, semi-detached. Sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's on three floors. The main living area is on the top floor, with big doors that open onto a deck. You can see the lake from there. On the middle floor, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. On the bottom floor, there are two more bedrooms, and one of them has glass doors that open out onto the waterside deck. That room has its own bathroom.
It has a 4 Star rating. The facilities are good. There's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
Outside, there's the deck with the view and a private hot tub.
The estate has about 40 acres of parkland with lakes, canals and woodland to walk around. It's quiet. There's a lakeside bar and restaurant about half a mile down the road. Elland town centre is five minutes in the car. They've got an old cinema and a microbrewery there. Brighouse is about the same distance, it's a bit bigger with a market. The train station in Brighouse is useful.
Halifax is ten minutes away. The Piece Hall and Shibden Hall are there, which are worth a visit. Eureka, the children's museum, is in Halifax too, about a 15 minute drive.
Further out, you can get to Haworth, which is all cobbled streets and Brontë history, in about half an hour. For a proper day out, both the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District are under an hour's drive.
If you're looking for walk ideas or more about the area, these sites are good: National Trust Yorkshire and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
