Waterside Lodge Fourteen is one of a dozen wooden lodges on a lakeside estate near Elland. It's a semi-detached, three-storey building. The first thing you'll see is the water right outside the back. There are lakes, canals, and woods all around the 40-acre park.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, so everyone gets some privacy. Two of the bedrooms have their own en-suites. One of the bedrooms on the lower floor has a glass front that opens onto the deck by the water. The main living area is up on the top floor. It's open plan with big folding doors that lead to a balcony. The view from there is all trees and water. It feels quite private.
The lodge has a 4 Star rating. It's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings. A hot tub is on the deck outside. Everything is included: bedding, towels, the electricity. You can bring up to two dogs.
The location is quiet, but you're not far from things. There's a lakeside bar and restaurant about half a mile down the road. The towns of Brighouse and Elland are each about five minutes away by car. Elland has an old cinema and a microbrewery. Brighouse has a market and a train station with links to Manchester and Leeds.
For days out, Halifax is ten minutes away. The Piece Hall and Shibden Hall are there. Shibden Hall is the one from the TV series. With children, Eureka! museum is 15 minutes drive. The Brontë Parsonage in Haworth is about half an hour. For walks, both the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District are less than an hour's drive.
On site, there's parking right by the lodge. You get your own garden patio with the hot tub. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. A cot and highchair are here if you need them.
