Sycamore Barn

Sycamore Barn is in Northowram, near Halifax, West Yorkshire. It's a stone barn conversion. There's another property next door, Cedar Barn, on the same site, but you've got your own space.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. There's a third bathroom downstairs as well. It's a 5 Star place, so it's done to a high standard. It's all underfloor heating downstairs, which is great in winter. Big windows at the back look out over the fields.

The Calderdale Way footpath runs right past the property, so you can walk straight out from the door. There's about four acres of shared land here, mostly lawn. You have a private patio with furniture. Cedar Barn next door has a hot tub, but Sycamore Barn doesn't.

Facilities are all there: bedding and towels, washing machine, dishwasher, parking. There's also an electric vehicle charger. For kids, there's a cot and a highchair.

Northowram itself is quiet. There's a shop and a couple of pubs in the village, about a five-minute walk. Halifax is ten minutes by car. That's where you'll find the big supermarkets, the Piece Hall, and Eureka! for children. Shibden Hall is very close, maybe five minutes drive.

Further out, Hebden Bridge is maybe half an hour's drive. Haworth, for the Brontë stuff, is about the same. The edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is about an hour away. Manchester and York are also roughly an hour in different directions.

Useful links for planning: Yorkshire Dales National Park, National Trust Shibden Hall, and Calderdale Council for local walking info.
