Waterside Lodge Four Elland

Waterside Lodge Four is in Ashgrove Country Park, near Elland. It's one of several wooden lodges set around a big lake, with woodlands and canals nearby. The whole site is about 40 acres, so it feels quite private.

It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it works for a group or a family. It's a 4 Star place. It's nice, modern and clean.

The layout is over three floors. The main living area is on the top floor. It has big folding doors that open onto a deck with good views over the water. There's a bedroom with an ensuite on the middle floor, plus another bedroom and the main bathroom. Downstairs, there are two more bedrooms. One of them has glass doors that open straight out onto a big deck by the water. That's the one most people want. There's a hot tub on one of the decks.

You're about five minutes' drive from the local towns, Elland and Brighouse. There's a pub that does food about a mile away. There's a popular lakeside restaurant half a mile down the road. Elland has a very old independent cinema, which is worth a visit.

Brighouse has a market and decent shops, and a train station. From there, you can get trains to places like Hebden Bridge, Halifax, or into Manchester and Leeds if you want a city day. Halifax is about ten minutes away. The Piece Hall there is really worth seeing. The Piece Hall in Halifax is a good starting point for that. Shibden Hall, from the TV series, is nearby too.

If you've got children, Eureka! The National Children's Museum in Halifax is a fifteen minute drive. For a longer day out, you can drive up to Haworth for the Brontë Parsonage in about half an hour. For walking, the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District are both within an hour and a half.

Facilities: there's parking right outside. A washing machine, dishwasher, and a woodburning stove. WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's fishing on the lake if you have a license.
