Waterside Lodge Four is a timber lodge in Elland, West Yorkshire. It's on a site called Ashgrove Country Park, which is 40 acres of old estate parkland with lakes and woodland. It's a quiet spot.
The lodge sleeps up to eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have en-suites. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is clean and in good order.
The layout is over three floors. The main living area is on the top floor. It's open plan, with big folding doors that open onto a balcony. You get a good view of the countryside from there. On the middle floor are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The lower floor has two more bedrooms. One of these opens directly out onto a decked terrace by the water. That room has glass doors facing the lake.
There's a hot tub on the decking. You also get a woodburning stove inside for colder evenings. Facilities are straightforward: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
There's a pub and a restaurant about a mile away. A shop is two miles. Elland town centre is a five minute drive. It's a small place but it has a very old, independent cinema and a microbrewery. Brighouse is also five minutes away in the other direction. It's a bit bigger, has a market, and a train station. Trains go to places like Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Manchester, and Leeds.
If you're driving, Halifax is about ten minutes away. The Piece Hall is there, and Shibden Hall, which some people know from TV. Eureka, the children's museum, is also 15 minutes away. Haworth, with the Brontë connections, is about a 30 minute drive. For wider walks, both the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District are within an hour's drive.
