Slant End Cottage is in Linthwaite. It's an end of terrace stone cottage from the 1800s, up a side road. The views from the front are good. You're looking out over fields and hills.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It got its 4 Star rating after a full renovation a couple of years ago, so everything's fresh. The stairs are steep, as you'd expect.
The kitchen is open plan with the sitting area. It has a dishwasher. There's a small patio garden out the back with a table.
Linthwaite has a shop and a couple of pubs that do food, all a few minutes walk away. The Titanic Spa is about a 15 minute walk if that's your thing.
You're right on the edge of things here. Huddersfield town centre is ten minutes in the car one way. The other way, you're five miles from the official start of the Peak District National Park. The Colne Valley is all around you though, so you can start walking from the door.
Slaithwaite is five minutes down the road. It's a canalside village with some nice cafes. Marsden is ten minutes further on, good for a walk up to the reservoir or a pint. Holmfirth is about twenty minutes drive.
Facilities: there's parking for one car on the gravel drive. WiFi, TV, cot and highchair are all here. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
