Mount View is one of two cottages on our farm in Holme. It's a beef and sheep farm, so you'll see animals around. The driveway up to the place is cobbled, so take it slow.
The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's warm and comfortable, not ultra-modern. There are games and books on a shelf if you need them.
You get the patio to yourselves. The view is over the valley, which is the main thing. It's quiet.
If you're coming with more people, you can book the cottage next door, Trough Cottage, as well. They connect on the ground floor.
You're on the edge of the Peak District here. The Pennine Way goes right over the moor. Holme Moss, the big climb, is on the doorstep if you're cycling. For a walk, you can just head straight out from the door.
Holmfirth is about three miles away. That's where they filmed Last of the Summer Wine. It's got shops, pubs, and a few things like the Picturedrome music venue. The Holmfirth Events site lists what's on.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding is included. We've put in an electric car charger. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
