Riverview Retreat is in Blackhall Mill, in the valley by the River Derwent. It's a ground-floor apartment, part of a converted mill building.
The place sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower. The main bathroom has one of those big freestanding baths. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and has everything you need. The sofas recline and the TV has Sky. The kitchen is open plan with the living area.
There's a small patio area that's just for you. You also get access to a private outdoor seating area at the bakery and café about 50 yards away. That's run by the owners. They do a free breakfast for guests there every day.
The location is quiet but good for getting around. You can walk along the river from the door. There's a pub in the village. For a bigger shop or the Metro Centre, Gateshead is about eight miles.
Beamish Museum is about eight miles away and is good for a day out. Newcastle city centre is about a 20-minute drive if you're going for a meal or to the theatre. The coast, like Tynemouth, is maybe half an hour by car depending on traffic.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to two dogs.
