Chesters Lodge is just outside Ebchester in County Durham. There are nine of these lodges on site. They're all detached, single storey, and modern.
It's for up to six people, but there are only two bedrooms. There's one family bathroom with a decent shower. It's rated 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well equipped.
The main area is open plan. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, a dining space, and a living area with a wood burner. Outside is your own garden space with furniture and a hot tub for six people.
This specific lodge is adapted for wheelchair use. There's disabled parking, a ramp, wider doorways, and a bathroom a wheelchair can get into.
One well-behaved dog is welcome. The property doesn't accept bookings for large parties like stag or hen dos.
You're in the countryside, on the edge of the River Derwent. You can get fishing permits locally. It's right by the Derwent Walkway for cycling or walking.
The village of Ebchester is about half a mile away. There's a local shop and a pub that does food. Consett is three miles away for more shops. The city of Durham is about 15 miles away. It's a World Heritage site with the cathedral and castle.
You're well placed for the wider area. The North Pennines and Northumberland National Park are on the doorstep. Hadrian's Wall is about 20 miles north. Corbridge and Hexham, with their markets and shops, are about a 30 minute drive.
