Rivers Edge Cottage is in Consett, County Durham. It's a converted barn, on one floor. Detached, so you're on your own. The owners live nearby but the garden is yours.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up well. The ceiling is beamed. The bathroom is circular, which is a bit unusual but it works fine.
It's right next to the River Derwent. You can walk along the bank from the garden. It's very quiet.
For shops and a pub, you'll need to go into Consett town, about a mile away.
Derwent Reservoir is close for walks. Hamsterley Forest is about a 20 minute drive for mountain biking or just a walk in the woods. The Derwent Walk is an old railway line, good for a flat cycle ride.
Beamish Museum is a big living history place. It's a proper day out and it's about 15 minutes by car. Newcastle city centre is roughly half an hour away if you want that.
The coast, like Seaham, takes about 45 minutes to an hour to drive to.
What's here: Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside, a BBQ, and you can store bikes. We've got a cot and a highchair if needed. No pets, sorry.
