Two The Old Stables is part of a row of three cottages, next to our house in a hamlet called Knitsley. It's near Consett in County Durham. The location is quiet, but you're not far from the main roads.
It sleeps four people in two double bedrooms. Everything is on one level, which is handy if you don't want stairs. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well set up and finished to a good standard. The bed linen is Egyptian cotton.
You can bring up to two dogs. We've got a paddock and stables here, so if you wanted to bring a horse you'd need to ask us about that first. There's a patio garden with a barbecue, and parking right outside.
Inside it's got a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. We put a welcome pack in for you with some bits from the local farm shop. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
The shop and a pub that does food are about half a mile away. For a day out, Durham city is about 10 miles. It's got the cathedral and castle, and the river. Beamish Museum is also about 10 miles away and is good for a family visit. Newcastle city centre is less than 20 miles if you fancy a night out.
There are a lot of public footpaths and cycle routes starting from here. You can walk straight out into the Durham Dales. For bigger days out, places like Barnard Castle, Raby Castle, and High Force waterfall are all within a 30 minute drive.
