The Old Stables is in East Butsfield, near Consett. It's a terraced cottage next to our house.
It sleeps four but it's got two double bedrooms, not separate rooms. It's all on one level, which is useful. There's one bathroom.
You get your own garden area which is enclosed. There's parking on site. It's got a 5 Star rating so it's well equipped. Everything is electric.
It's quiet here. The views are of fields.
The local shop and pub are about half a mile down the road. The pub does food. The welcome pack has things from the nearby farm shop.
Durham city is about ten miles away. It's good for a day trip. For history, Durham Cathedral and the castle are there. Beamish Museum is also roughly ten miles away. It's good if you've got kids.
If you want to walk, you can get straight onto paths from here. The Durham Dales are close. For a bigger day out, Newcastle is under twenty miles away.
You can bring dogs. There is a limit of two. If you have a horse, you'd need to ask us beforehand as we have stables.
