Sycamore Cottage is in Iveston, County Durham. It's a detached place, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. We live nearby if you need anything.
It sleeps four but it's one bedroom and one bathroom, so it's really best for a couple or a small family. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not modern luxury.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. You can bring one dog. There's parking right outside.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine too.
The village of Lanchester is about a mile and a half away. It's got shops, a few pubs that do food, an Italian restaurant, and a fish and chip shop. All useful.
There are footpaths right from the cottage. One nice walk follows the River Browney down towards the village. For cycling, the Derwent Valley Railway path goes towards Durham and the Waskerley Way goes out towards Weardale.
Durham city is about ten miles away. You've got the cathedral and the university there. The Beamish Museum is a good day out, it's an open-air history museum. Newcastle and the Metrocentre are within a 30 minute drive.
If you head west, you get into Teesdale and Weardale in under half an hour. It's proper walking country up there. Hadrian's Wall is about an hour's drive.
