Hadrian Lodge is one of nine lodges in a place called Vindomora Country Lodges, near Ebchester. It's officially in Northumberland, but right on the border with County Durham. You're down a country lane with views over fields.
The lodge sleeps six. It's got two bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything's on one level, which is good if you don't want stairs. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and comfortable. The living area is open plan, with a wood burner. The kitchen has what you'd need: dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer.
Outside, there's your own garden area with furniture and a six-person hot tub. You can park right outside.
Just so you know, it's not a party place. They only take families and couples, no stag or hen dos.
One of the lodges, Coria Lodge, is set up for wheelchair users. Hadrian Lodge isn't specifically adapted, but it is all on the ground floor with level access.
You can bring one dog.
The village of Ebchester is about half a mile walk. There's a shop, a pub, and a couple of restaurants. The pub does food.
If you like walking or cycling, the Derwent Walkway is only a few hundred yards from the lodges. There's also a boathouse on the River Derwent. You can get a fishing permit for a small fee.
For days out, Durham is about 15 miles away. It's a cathedral city and a UNESCO site. Hexham is about the same distance the other way, with shops and Hexham Abbey. Corbridge is closer, about 10 miles, with nice cafes and shops.
You're right near Hadrian's Wall. It's a World Heritage Site. The coast is about 24 miles if you fancy a beach trip.
For golf, there's a course in Consett, 3 miles away, or the big one at Slaley Hall which is 15 miles.
