The Vindolanda Lodge is near Ebchester in County Durham. It’s one of nine lodges on the same site, all detached and single storey. You get your own garden and a six-person hot tub.
It sleeps six in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s well-finished and comfortable. One of the lodges here is adapted for wheelchair use, with wider doors and a wet room.
The lodge is open plan. There’s a wood burner in the living area. The kitchen has the usual things: dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
The site is down a country lane looking over fields. It’s about half a mile to Ebchester village. There’s a shop, a pub, and restaurants you can walk to. The River Derwent is close by if you want to fish, and you’re right next to the Derwent Walk for cycling or walking.
Durham city is about half an hour’s drive. It’s a UNESCO site, good for a day out. You’re also not far from the North Pennines or Hadrian’s Wall. Hexham is around half an hour away, Corbridge is about twenty minutes.
