The Vindalanda Lodge

The Vindolanda Lodge is on a site in Ebchester, County Durham. There are nine lodges. They're all on one level and they feel private.

Our lodge sleeps six. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern, clean, and warm. The main living area is open plan, so the kitchen, dining, and sitting room are all together. It's a good space to be in if the weather isn't great. There's a wood burner. The furniture is comfortable.

Outside, you get your own garden area and a six-seater hot tub.

There's one bathroom. It has a good shower and there's a heated towel rail.

The kitchen has what you'll need: dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven, and hob.

Ebchester village is about half a mile away. There's a shop, a pub, and a couple of restaurants. You can walk it.

The site is right on the Derwent Walk for walking and cycling. If you like fishing, there's a boat house and permits are available for the river.

For a day out, Durham is about 15 miles. It's a cathedral city, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Hexham is about the same distance, with its abbey and a leisure centre. Corbridge is pretty and about 10 miles away.

Hadrian's Wall isn't far. You're in a good spot to explore bits of it. The nearest area is probably around Corbridge. For planning, the Northumberland National Park and North Pennines sites have good information.

Facilities: parking right by the lodge, bedding and towels are included, TV, WiFi, highchair and cot available. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

The lodge is wheelchair accessible. There's a ramp, wide doors, and the bathroom is adapted for wheelchair use with a level-entry shower.
